The director is responsible for the publication of the journal, for directing the activities of the Editorial Committee, and representing officially and legally the journal.
The editor-in-chief is in charge of directing the creative and execution processes of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá), as well as of proposing actions to improve the journal.
It is the editor-in-chief who, at first instance, reads and accepts the submitted manuscripts that fulfill the Author Guidelines. Then, he or she classifies the articles, examining the relevance of the content for the established sections, the investigative support, abstract structure and keywords, as well as the presentation and internal coherence of the text.
For support and orientation, the editor-in-chief will rely on the section editors (researchers assigned to a research line associated with each of the sections of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá), and members of the research groups of the Faculty of Design).
The editor-in-chief will follow the “Code of conduct and best practice. Guidelines for journal editors” (COPE, 2011).
Responsibilities
It monitors the fulfillment of objectives of the journal, editorial and scientific policies, and publication standards; it establishes measures to facilitate and increase the added and differential value of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá). It defines the structure of the journal, as well as proposes authors and topics for each volume.

It is responsible for the published content, in accordance with the institutional and particular policies of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá) regarding academic, scientific, and disciplinary aspects.
The Committee is constituted by national or international professionals of recognized trajectory in each of the established sections of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá). Members must be active researchers with recent publications in journals and/or books.
The Committee is composed of prominent researchers at the University, as well as from other national and international institutions. There will be a balance among the sections of the journal.
The Editorial Committee will be evaluated and renewed every two years; members will have the possibility to stay, be excluded, or abdicate.
Committee membership is honorary and it does not generate any labor or contractual relationship with the Universidad Católica de Colombia.
Responsibilities
Establish the editorial policies of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá), in accordance with the editorial policies of the Universidad Católica de Colombia.
The Scientific Committee of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá) acts as an advisory body to the Editorial Committee and it is composed of representatives of the national and international scientific and academic community.
Committee members will be selected from candidates presented to the Editorial Board and the editor-in-chief, and ratified by the journal’s Editorial Committee.
Responsibilities
They are experts in the topics and sections of Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá), with research experience and publications.
Participation in Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá) is through direct invitation to evaluate a maximum of two articles per volume.
Whenever possible, reviewers will be renewed in each issue of the journal and can be invited again after a year. The editor-in-chief will evaluate peer reviewers in order to assess compliance with established deadlines and the quality of the review.
Acting as peer reviewer does not generate any labor or contractual relationship with the Universidad Católica de Colombia, the Faculty of Design, or Revista de Arquitectura (Bogotá).
Peer reviewers will follow the “COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers” (COPE, 2013).
Reviewers can reject the invitation if they consider there could be a personal or professional conflict of interests (See example RevArq FP06 CDI).
